The Eryri Harriers send their sincere condolences to Danny Hughes family and friends following his death yesterday. Danny has been a staunch supporter of mountain running from when mountain running was not given much recognition and was very much a minority sport. Danny was instrumental in mountain running finally achieving World Championship status.
He will be sadly missed.

I met Danny at the Screes Inn a couple of times and had a few good chats about the fells. Terrible shame, I have emailed his daughter (who owns the pub) to convey our sympathies.
