Peris Horseshoe

Click here for Peris Race results

The bare bones!, the organisers ramblings!Well that was a rush, 41 halves and 4 earlies headed off into the Elidir mist, where had they all come from?,with llyn brenig and the'Ben' on the most I expected was about 15 but the fact it was a club and WFRA championship (plus the fact is a cracking underrated race) must have boosted the figures.
Full marks 2 Paul Jenks, saving himself until he reached the mist then legging it 2 beat his own record, Arwel and Don taking the 50 & 60 while Maggie Oliver now has the distinction of holding the F60 record in both Peris's!.After all her injuries and trials and tribulations it was nice to see Jenny Hemline back racing finishing just over a minute behind Anna Bartlett and picking up 1st local lady 4 her troubles
The full.Well Mercias Pete Vale was away and that was that recording the 5th fastest time in the races 22 year history leaving Richard and Chris in his wake while early challanger Sam Smith discovered to his cost that going up Glyder isnt as easy as descending Tryfan! In the ladies Mrs Rowlands finally recorded her 1st win, steady pacing by Kat got her 2nd place while Alwyn Oliver made it a family'nain a taid' double by taking the o/60.
Due 2 a cock up by me the Cread 1st locals trophies were mistakenly awarded but were rectified the next day, Edwin Williams and Stell '1st did the race when it was 10-(thats ten shillings for the youngsters or 50pence for the kids) ' Farrar.
Once again enough enough praise cannot lavished on all those people who turn out on the day 2 help and a lot of them are not even Eryri! Im not going 2 name them all here but we know who they are and the bottom line is if they were not there the whole thing would go pear shaped and where would the race be then?,thanx 2 all of u again!
Due to the efficency of Arwels Angels Im sure the results will soon be posted so watch this space, meanwhile next sat (the 12th) I am organising the junior championship on the Orme so if you have a couple of hours spare get on the dog & bone 2 me.Mike.

  1. Thank you Mike and all your helpers . My mate and me had a fantastic day out doing the Half . I'm sure I'll see you all before but I'll be back next year to hopefully do the full race and get my hands on one of those coasters . Kind regards John Nightingale ;-)
