Hutton Roof Crags British 'Fell' Inter Counties champs

5 Harriers (and coach) made the trek up to the Hutton Roof Crags "fell" race (near Kendal / Kirby Lonsdale) to represent North Wales in the British inter counties championships. A massive jam on the M6 meant a nice detour via the Yorkshire Dales.

The course could be described as a tough, fast undulating cross country course with one decent climb and no decent descents - hardly a fell race!!

In a top class field of 345 runners representing regions from as far a field as Essex, Middlesex, Hertfordshire and Scotland it was a mixed day for the Eryri runners.

In the ladies Jenny Hemming ran well to finish in 21st, Annie Williams in 30th and a suffering Becky Law in 34th....the North Wales team finished in 7th.

In the men's - and just to prove that pretty awful performances are also reported on this blog - a not very happy Rob Samuel finished in 32nd, whilst a disastrous performance by myself (Math R) saw me limping home in 46th. A decent performance by the team saw them finishing in 5th.
